Beetle House Review

Beetle House is a fan fair theme bar, based off of Tim Burton films from his popular Edward Scissorhands to the most recent Dumbo. The decor has tons of memorabilia and fan art in almost every inch of space. It will definitely give you the nostalgia feels of being in your Halloween costume while watching Nightmare Before Christmas, except with tasty drinks, at their two locations in New York and Los Angeles. My first experience was a couple of years ago at the New York location. I dined there for a friend’s birthday party. I remember the food being pretty good, but space was tight. For most New York bars and restaurant scenes, this comes with the territory of paying body parts for rental space. It was a nice experience, however my second visit really rocked my bones. At the time that my friend and I went inside, it was around Christmas and it looked like Beetlejuice threw a surprise party for Jack. The Christmas decorations added to the vibe of Christmas in Halloween town. They definitely improved a lot of the interior from a couple of years ago, I saw a new paint job and a lot more memorabilia all over. While we were having our drinks, they had someone cosplay as Santa Jack with Zero and later Beetlejuice. We were able to take pictures and cheers with our favorite dark characters. The drinks we had were so delicious, I ordered “We Come In Peace” which is a RumChata mixer replicating a caramel salt dessert. This was completely different from the drinks that I had last time. The bar is still cash only, but they have an ATM inside the facility with a fee of $2.50. Someday I will go back to try the food again and see if anything changed from there.
All in all, if you want to party in Beetlejuice’s favorite bar, don’t miss the party!
